I've spent my life behind the chair as a master barber, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that most men's grooming products are junk. Cheap fillers, harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, products made to sell, not to work. I got tired of watching my clients reach for stuff that irritated their skin and stripped their hair. I knew there was a better way.
Vern's started when I was a teenager with a five-pound brick of beeswax and a lot of trial and error in my parents' kitchen. What began as curiosity turned into obsession, crafting formulas the old-fashioned way, by hand, one batch at a time.
Today, out of my shop in Saratoga Springs, NY, every Vern's product is made in small batches using carefully sourced, high-quality ingredients. No outsourcing. No mass production. No shortcuts.
What We Put In (and What We Leave Out)
When I started this, I made one promise: never compromise on what goes onto your skin. Every formula is built on a foundation of clean, earth-derived ingredients, the kind that work with your skin, not against it.
We use premium carrier oils like jojoba and sunflower because they mimic your skin's natural oils, absorb quickly, and won't clog pores. No synthetic silicones. No parabens. No filler.
Our shea butter is sourced ethically from its natural home, because that's simply where the best shea butter grows. Quality always comes first. If we can't source the finest version of an ingredient, we don't use it.
